ADVTP at a Glance: Who We Are and What We Do
For more than thirty years, the Afghan Development and Vocational Training Program (ADVTP NGO) has been at the forefront of delivering life-saving aid and long-term development across Afghanistan. Our reach covers all 34 provinces, guided from our Kabul headquarters and supported by regional hubs in Logar, Parwan, Paktia, and Khost, plus a cross-border liaison office in Peshawar, Pakistan. This setup isn't just a map of offices—it’s our engine for action. It gives us the grit, connections, and flexibility we need to move quickly, even in Afghanistan’s most remote or sensitive areas.
Why does that matter? Because Afghanistan’s needs shift fast. Decades of war, weak infrastructure, climate shocks, and difficult terrain mean emergencies can spark anywhere, anytime. Getting help to people isn't just about technical know-how; it’s about deep local roots, trusted relationships, and the muscle to manage projects across fractured landscapes. That’s where ADVTP stands out.
Our Structure: Built for Speed, Trust, and Impact
Central Headquarters (Kabul): This is our nerve center—where admin, finance, security, and reporting happen.
Regional Hubs (Logar, Parwan, Paktia, Khost): These offices store equipment, coordinate rapid-response teams, and oversee projects in real-time.
Provincial Sub-Offices: Local action stations in every province, handling daily community outreach and on-the-ground distributions.
International Liaison (Peshawar): We handle cross-border work, keep supply lines open, and stay connected with global partners.
What We Actually Do: Our Main Sectors
We work across 12 sectors—which often overlap, because you can’t fix water problems without fixing roads, or improve health without food. Here’s a closer look:
Civil Construction & Infrastructure: Our engineers rebuild schools, clinics, water systems, roads, and retaining walls—always with community input and approval.
Irrigation : We repair and modernize agricultural water networks, clear and reinforce traditional kareez systems, and stop flash-flood damage with better canal and river management.
Education: We bring practical literacy programs to adults, train institutional staff, and invest in real-world skills.
Climate-Resilient Agriculture: We help farmers shift to drought-resistant crops, grow high-yield fruit, and multiply climate-smart seeds.
Water & WASH: Gravity-fed pipelines, deep boreholes, and solar pumps bring safe water to even the toughest locations.
Vocational Training (TVET): Inside our workshops, youth and adults learn trades like carpentry, welding, machinery repair, and digital literacy. Specialized programs support women with home-based skills, too.
Child Protection: We run safe spaces for vulnerable kids, provide social case management, reunite families, and offer trauma counseling.
Women’s Economic Empowerment: Women gain financial skills, start micro-businesses, and join leadership training and human rights sessions.
Public Health Nutrition: Therapeutic food distributions, nutrition diagnostics, and education target acute malnutrition among mothers and children.
Sustainable Livelihoods: Our programs link job skills to real income through cash-for-work projects, market access for rural producers, and enterprise support.
Gender Equality: Every project includes gender-sensitive planning—safe aid channels for women, expanded female literacy, and growing women’s community leadership.
Emergency Response: When disaster hits, we deliver food, water, shelter, and more within 48-to-72 hours, thanks to our provincial networks.
Why Pick ADVTP as Your Partner? Here’s the Difference
We go where others can’t: Our long history means communities know us and trust us. We have access where most international organizations struggle to operate safely, especially in hard-to-reach districts.
Ready to Scale, Fast: Our people and offices are already on the ground, so we launch new projects without delay—no wasted months setting up.
Strict Reporting: Using GPS mapping, before-and-after images, outside verifiers, and tough financial audits, we keep every donor informed and every dollar accountable.
